Información Útil
The best time to travel to South Africa depends on the type of experience you would like to enjoy:
- Safaris: From May to September (dry season), ideal for exceptional wildlife viewing in Kruger and the private reserves.
- Beaches and Winelands: From November to March, with warm sunny days and the best atmosphere in Cape Town and the Cape Winelands.
- Whale watching: From July to November, especially along the coast of Hermanus and the Cape.
- Adventure activities: Experiences such as great white shark diving are best enjoyed between April and September.
Thanks to its diversity of landscapes and climates, South Africa is a destination that can be enjoyed almost year-round.
To enter South Africa, travelers must hold a valid passport with at least two blank pages available for entry and exit stamps. In addition, the passport must remain valid for at least 30 days beyond the date of departure from the country. We also recommend checking with the nearest South African consulate or embassy regarding visa requirements, as these may vary depending on your nationality.
There are no mandatory vaccinations required to enter South Africa. However, South Africa does require a yellow fever vaccination certificate for travelers over one year of age arriving from countries with a risk of yellow fever transmission. This requirement also applies to travelers who have transited through airports in those countries for more than 12 hours.
As private healthcare in South Africa is of a very high standard but can be costly, we strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that includes medical coverage.
When traveling to South Africa with minors, the following documentation is recommended:
- Valid passport: Each child must travel with their own valid passport.
- Birth certificate: It is advisable to carry a copy of the child’s full birth certificate showing the details of both parents.
- Consent letter: If one parent is not traveling with the child, it is recommended to carry a signed consent letter from the absent parent, together with a copy of their identification document.
As entry requirements may change, we also recommend confirming the latest regulations with your nearest South African consulate or embassy before traveling.
